Welcome to JenniferBonoff.com!
Thanks so much for visiting my personal website. I would love to introduce myself and give a bit of history on my journey thus far as well as a look into my current projects.
My family is my reason for being. I am blessed with a great husband and 2 beautiful kiddos.
A Little History… Always an Entrepreneur
In 1998, I graduated from Yale University with a degree in Political Science. I was confused and torn after graduation and did not follow the “traditional” role of applying to grad school or seeking out an entry job in the Big City. In my heart and soul, I was an entrepreneur. With that knowledge, and with the help and partnership of my husband, Doug, we set out on a journey together that still defines our lives today.
It was certainly a struggle, but in just over a year, I established a successful website design and Internet Marketing business. My company began to provide website services back when very few businesses had an online presence, and before anyone had even heard of social media.
After an extremely productive first year, I decided to sell my business to a private investor just 18 months into operation.
The sale of my first business was featured in the August 2004 issue of Inc. Magazine which focused on “How to Build Your Company’s Value.”
At that time, we had over 12,000 subscribers to our online newsletter, and 2,000 active customers from around the world – the United States, Australia, Canada, England, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, and South Africa.
It was a fast and intense ride, but a necessary foundation for what was to follow…
After the sale of the first business, I wrote and published a 224 page book, “Zero To Six Figures,” which tells my story of home-business success, and walks readers step-by-step through the process of starting their own businesses from home on the Internet. Doug and I were also featured in a “home business success” TV special. I have included a clip from that special:
Over the years, I have developed a true passion for teaching, and also for learning. To improve my skills and venture into academia, I made the decision to pursue higher education. My graduation from Yale seemed so long ago, yet in 2010, at the age of 34, I jumped back in and received a Master’s Degree in Technological Commercialization (Entrepreneurship) from Northeastern University. After graduation, I was accepted into a doctoral program at the University of Rhode Island. I finished my Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing in 2019.
My current and future focus lies within higher education. Currently, I am a Marketing Instructor and Program Coordinator for Business Administration at Salve Regina University. As part of the Salve community since 2006, I have had the opportunity to serve the University and student body as an instructor for both Graduate and Undergraduate studies, the Department Chair of Business Studies and Economics, a Program Coordinator for both Marketing and Business studies, a faculty-elected member of the Curriculum Committee and the Nominations & Elections Committee, the Departmental Liaison for Marketing and Global Business & Economics, the Chapter Advisor for the Sigma Beta Delta International Business Honor Society, along with many other roles.
I have the wonderful privilege and responsibility to educate students to harness the full potential of the new digital environment, while simultaneously maintaining a focus on personal integrity and social justice.
My business background plays an essential role in my preparedness to educate and research at the highest level. I bring energy and enthusiasm into the classroom while infusing real-world business examples and experience into the material. I have a true passion for teaching, a unique connection to the students, and I thrive in the role of an innovator.
Contact me at any time. I welcome questions, thoughts, and feedback…
